Vintage silk haori, or kimono jacket from the Showa Period.
The white flowers on the sleeves and on the back are made with the shibori tecnique.
Shibori means that the fabric is tie-dyed. Areas are patterned by tightly wrapping tiny sections of the light-weight white silk with thread. When the fabric is dyed, the wrapped areas remain white, forming a slightly irregular repeat pattern of tiny circles.
